AcoustiHood is a two-part under hood cover and insulation kit that not only dresses up the engine, but also stops the vibration and noise created by large, minimally supported hood panels. Each AcoustiHood product is patterned and modeled on an OEM hood, so that it is year, make, and model specific.
Stage One: Heatshield Insulation panels are designed to fit between the structural ribs of the hood to stop vibration and heat. Our kits include glue and aluminum tape to secure the edges of the insulation.
Stage Two:A high temperature ABS panel is used to create a smooth, clean, finished look. This panel will protect the insulation, as well as conceal any under hood blemishes that come from exterior body work.
Depending on the size, shape and structural integrity of the hood, AcoustiHood will reduce the transfer of air-borne noise as much as three to five decibels on average, which figures out to about 25% reduction in noise to the passenger cabin.
